3D Design
Using a variety of true to life images, I designed many versions of rocks, corals, shells, plants and so on with varying stylized textures and shapes to create a sense of depth and shadow when lighting the models by LED spotlights.
This project was a commissioned piece I created alongside AH Studios in Essex. The client required a large selection of coral pieces that would cover an internal wall within a lobby area. I designed all the coral pieces in Zbrush and they were then 3D Printed in a combination of SLA and FDM.
Using a variety of true to life images, I designed many versions of rocks, corals, shells, plants and so on with varying stylized textures and shapes to create a sense of depth and shadow when lighting the models by LED spotlights.
Although I didn't chose the final colour pallet (which was much more pastel in tone) I still created some mock-ups of coral sections with a splash of colour as a visual aid to show the vibrancy and liveliness of how the final product could look.
The large selection of models were 3D printed in-house at AH Studios and then painted by their talented team of artists to create a satisfying range of colour which complimented the overall theme.
The final models were fixed to several 2x4 meter sections that could be taken apart and easily transported to the clients premises abroad without sustaining massive damage. The final look was quite effective and created an unusual and eye-catching result.
Thank you for taking the time to look through my work. Any questions give me a shout.
I'm always keen to work with other designers out there and collaborate on further projects. Please take a moment to share my project and do Get In Touch.
